Principal Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote; eligible hiring locations are any countries where hirify.global has a legal entity. Seattle, United States is listed as the role location.

Salary: United States base pay ranges are $209,700–$273,775 for Zone A, $188,730–$246,398 for Zone B, and $174,051–$227,233 for Zone C.

What you will do

• Own customer-facing product features end to end across React/TypeScript front ends, backend services, and APIs.
• Make architecture and technical decisions guided by user and business outcomes.
• Define success metrics, instrument products, monitor telemetry, and investigate root causes through user behavior data.
• Design and build AI-enabled and agentic experiences by integrating LLMs and AI workflows into products used by millions of people.
• Set technical direction, influence product strategy, and collaborate with product managers, designers, and platform teams.
• Prototype solutions in ambiguous problem spaces and drive them to production-grade reliability, performance, and scale while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• Experience as a product-minded principal-level software engineer and senior individual contributor.
• Strong full-stack engineering experience with React, TypeScript, backend services, and APIs.
• Ability to connect technical decisions to user and business outcomes.
• Experience designing AI-enabled or agentic product experiences and integrating LLMs or AI workflows.
• Ability to define metrics, analyze telemetry, perform root-cause investigations, and improve products based on data.
• Ability to work from a country where hirify.global has a legal entity.
