Assistant or Associate Professor of Public Health

What you will do

• Teach undergraduate and graduate Public Health courses in traditional and online formats during the fall and spring semesters.
• Teach subjects such as community and public health, health promotion, epidemiology, health behavior, program planning and evaluation, environmental health, health disparities, and research methods.
• Develop and strengthen the Public Health curriculum and prepare students for employment, professional certifications, graduate education, and public health careers.
• Build collaborative relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, governmental and public health agencies, and regional partners.
• Participate in program assessment, continuous improvement, university service, and scholarly activity consistent with a tenure-track appointment.

Requirements

• Earned doctorate by December 2026 in Public Health, Health Education, Health Promotion, Community Health, Epidemiology, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated potential for teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Knowledge of contemporary public health practice.
• Ability to contribute to public health education and serve diverse communities in South Texas and the Coastal Bend region.
• Ability to work at the Victoria Campus in Victoria, Texas.

Nice to have

• MPH or doctoral degree from a CEPH-accredited school or program of public health.
• Expertise in epidemiology, community health, health promotion, health behavior, program planning and evaluation, environmental health, or population health.
• Experience with university teaching, online instruction, applied learning, student mentoring, curriculum development, program assessment, or accreditation.
• Established scholarly productivity or a clearly defined research agenda.
• Experience partnering with public health agencies, healthcare organizations, schools, nonprofits, or community programs.
