Assistant Professor of Finance/Financial Planning

What you will do

• Teach primarily undergraduate and graduate courses supporting the financial planning curriculum.
• Prepare students for the Certified Financial Planner examination through courses in retirement, estate, tax, insurance, investment, employee benefits, and related planning areas.
• Teach additional finance courses, including corporate finance, investments, financial institutions, and personal finance, as needed.
• Deliver instruction in face-to-face, hybrid, online, hyflex, and other assigned modalities.
• Maintain an active research agenda and contribute to the scholarly mission of the department and college.
• Advise and mentor students, support curriculum development, and provide service to the department, university, profession, and community.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Financial Planning or Finance from an AACSB-accredited institution; advanced ABD candidates may be considered if the degree is conferred by appointment.
• CFP designation or completion of all educational requirements to sit for the CFP examination; the examination must be passed within two years of employment.
• Ability to teach effectively across face-to-face, hybrid, online, and hyflex formats.
• Ability to conduct research, advise students, participate in curriculum development, and provide academic and professional service.
• Application materials must include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, research and teaching statements, CFP evidence or qualifying transcripts, three references, graduate transcripts, and recent teaching evaluations.

Nice to have

• Experience teaching courses aligned with CFP Board educational requirements.
• Relevant finance certifications or professional and industry experience.
• Experience teaching online, hyflex, or graduate courses.
• Engagement with student activities.
