Location: Client site in Edwardsville, Illinois, United States; onsite Monday through Thursday, 8am–6pm

What you will do
- Perform venipuncture and other laboratory specimen collections according to age-related standards and departmental procedures.
- Receive and review physician orders, enter laboratory test orders, and verify test result receipt across multiple systems.
- Process, label, centrifuge, aliquot, freeze, and package specimens for transport while maintaining sample stability and integrity.
- Provide patient communication and post-phlebotomy care while applying patient safety practices.
- Monitor equipment operation, refrigerator temperatures, quality records, supplies, and biohazard waste procedures.
- Complete laboratory reception and clerical duties, including patient information retrieval, filing, email, medical record systems, and device use.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Phlebotomy certification from a nationally recognized organization, training from a phlebotomy school or medical institution, at least one year of healthcare phlebotomy experience, or CMA certification.
- Availability to work Monday through Thursday from 8am to 6pm at the Edwardsville client site.
- Excellent customer service, communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to follow laboratory, safety, biohazard, regulatory, and accreditation procedures.
Nice to have
- Experience performing phlebotomy for a broad range of patient types.
- Experience processing and transferring specimens and operating a centrifuge.
- Familiarity with medical electronic medical record systems and medical terminology.
