Sr Phlebotomist - Greensboro, NC

What you will do

• Verify test requisitions and patient identities before collection.
• Collect blood specimens through venipuncture and finger sticks.
• Maintain specimen integrity using aseptic and isolation procedures.
• Track collections, document draw details, maintain quality-control records, and follow testing schedules.
• Resolve unusual test orders with physicians, pathologists, nursing stations, and reference laboratories.
• Manage patient reports, triage billing questions, follow up with patients, and schedule courier pickups through FedEx or Medspeed.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of phlebotomy experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certificate required where mandated by the state.
• Ability to follow hospital policies, professional standards, legal regulations, and JCAHO standards.
• Ability to work in an office setting wearing scrubs and track every draw.
• Complete HIPAA/PHI privacy, general compliance, and security training within the first 30 days of hire.
