Health Unit Coordinator (NICU)

Location: 25 N. Winfield Rd., Winfield, Illinois, United States; onsite, part-time day shift

Salary: $17.05–$25.58 per hour

What you will do

• Perform unit reception, patient registration, clerical work, medical record management, and census validation.
• Coordinate unit workflow with the manager, charge nurse, physicians, patients, families, and other departments.
• Retrieve lab results, enter and verify physician orders, and support timely delivery of medications, supplies, and diagnostic services.
• Prepare, maintain, and forward medical records for admissions and discharges.
• Answer calls, monitor camera and door-entry systems, conduct inquiry screenings, and provide accurate information and reassurance.
• Prioritize changing unit needs, handle stressful situations, and contribute to service and process improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic computer knowledge and competence with order entry, results, documentation, and electronic records.
• Effective spoken and written English communication is required.
• Ability to identify when an interpreter is needed and use interpreter services appropriately.
• Excellent customer service, organization, flexibility, and ability to manage multiple time-sensitive tasks.
• Ability to work onsite at the Winfield, Illinois location.

Nice to have

• One year of experience in a relevant clinical specialty.
