Location: Texarkana, Texas, United States; on-campus role

Salary: $44,000 annually ($3,666.66 monthly)

What you will do

• Provide individual and group academic advising for undergraduate students, including course selection, registration, degree planning, goal setting, and transition support.
• Monitor academic progress and implement interventions for students receiving academic alerts or needing support to maintain or improve academic standing.
• Address academic, financial, career, and social barriers and connect students with appropriate university resources.
• Coordinate advising projects, student-success events, outreach, retention programs, and interventions.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, academic units, student life, enrollment management, and campus partners.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with university policies, regulations, and FERPA requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• No prior experience is required.
• Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, work cooperatively, handle sensitive information, and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work beyond normal office hours and/or on weekends and perform duties on campus in Texarkana, Texas.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in higher education, college student personnel, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
• Experience in academic advising, recruiting, coaching, degree planning, career counseling, or education.
• Experience supporting at-risk and first-year college students and creating intervention plans.
• Knowledge of student-centered advising and student-success programming.
