Shipping Leader (Manufacturing)

Location: Fayetteville, NC, US; on-site industrial operations with regular shop-floor presence and physical material-handling duties.

What you will do

• Lead all inbound and outbound shipments and coordinate material movement to meet production and customer requirements.
• Promote safe work practices, lead shipping-related EHS activities, conduct audits, and ensure compliance for hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
• Coach, train, schedule, and manage shipping associates while maintaining required qualifications and training records.
• Coordinate deliveries, railcar movements, carrier relationships, transportation issues, and off-hours logistics support.
• Investigate shipment quality concerns, customer complaints, and non-conformances while implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor freight and distribution costs and improve safety, service, reliability, and operational performance.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar industrial manufacturing operation.
• High school diploma and post-secondary vocational or technical training.
• Strong communication, leadership, interpersonal, teamwork, and conflict-management skills.
• Knowledge of or ability to become competent in DOT requirements and applicable safety, environmental, transportation, and regulatory standards.
• Ability to walk, stand, drive, lift 55 pounds repeatedly, climb, work in confined spaces, and wear a respirator.
• Ability to analyze information, perform arithmetic accurately, make decisions, and work under stress.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data and make sound recommendations.
