Senior Buyer (Manufacturing)

Location: Liberty, South Carolina, United States; onsite. Occasional travel to supplier facilities is required.

What you will do

• Coordinate procurement activities and priorities for raw materials, capital equipment, tooling, and other purchases.
• Research suppliers, evaluate sourcing options, negotiate pricing, freight, terms, and other conditions, and issue purchase orders and change notices.
• Maintain requirements-planning data, supplier lead times, item classifications, safety stocks, and inventory levels.
• Lead cost-reduction initiatives and participate in procurement information-system and process improvements.
• Resolve supplier quality and delivery issues through investigation, vendor expediting, sample evaluation, and cross-functional coordination.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, internal teams, suppliers, and Procurement leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing, procurement, or a related field.
• Understanding of procurement practices, pricing, terms, shipment, taxes, and payment for products and services.
• Knowledge of models, drawings, manufacturing processes, Lean Manufacturing principles, relevant markets, commodities, and company products.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AS400 software.
• Strong communication, negotiation, organization, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.

Nice to have

• Continuing education certification in Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
