Compliance Paralegal

Location: North Bethesda, Maryland, United States; four days onsite at the corporate headquarters

Salary: $58,964–$65,000 per year

What you will do

• Prepare, issue, and execute termination, release, and settlement agreements with in-house counsel and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare legal notices, including default and termination notices, based on compliance committee decisions and counsel direction.
• Research files, interpret contract language, and prepare acceptance or denial letters and liquidated damages calculations.
• Confirm amounts due, support collections, and complete franchise termination processes.
• Manage priority requests, documentation, status updates, and multiple deadlines across assigned matters.
• Maintain compliance systems and support litigation and other risk-related matters.

Requirements

• At least three years of commercial, corporate, or international paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
• Strong legal research, drafting, written communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to apply legal concepts to practical business and compliance issues and manage matters independently in a high-volume environment.
• Proficiency with legal and corporate compliance systems and tools.
• Ability to work onsite in North Bethesda four days per week; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
