What you will do

• Lead and supervise the daily work of facilities engineers.
• Operate and maintain boilers, chilled-water air-conditioning equipment, pumps, air compressors, diesel-electric generators, and related power plant systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and urgent, corrective, and routine repairs across electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, and automation systems.
• Respond to utility and equipment failures, identify causes, and maintain continuity of hospital services.
• Monitor boiler water, condensate, softener, and cooling tower quality, while maintaining operational logs and work orders.
• Coordinate emergency procedures, shift handovers, safety practices, training, performance feedback, and workflow prioritization.

Requirements

• Seven years of relevant building maintenance and repair experience, including high-pressure steam boilers and refrigeration, electrical, and automation systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state driver's license, acceptable driving record, and auto insurance.
• Stationary Engineer license or equivalent and Level 3 EPA Refrigeration certification required.
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
• Compliance with OSHA, infection control, hospital safety, and regulatory standards.

Nice to have

• Five years of clinical laboratory experience in a TJC- or CAP-accredited laboratory in the supervised section.
