HVAC Building Technician (Mobile)

Location: Seattle, Washington, USA; mobile work between assigned properties and regular outdoor travel between sites.

Salary: $30.60–$36.00 per hour

What you will do

• Operate, maintain, inspect, and repair HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across assigned commercial properties.
• Maintain chillers, DX units, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, fan coil units, VAV systems, air distribution systems, and related controls.
• Perform preventive maintenance, equipment adjustments, repairs, installations, and energy management activities.
• Inspect emergency power, fire pumps, life-safety equipment, exits, rooms, and building infrastructure.
• Respond to equipment failures, fires, evacuations, customer concerns, and other emergency situations.
• Document work and report activities while following applicable codes, safety standards, and company procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience operating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a commercial property setting.
• Experience maintaining and repairing HVAC, boilers, heaters, pumps, refrigerant systems, compressors, and water systems.
• Required trade licenses or permits may include journeyman or master electrician, refrigeration, high-pressure boiler, or steam operator credentials.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, basic computer skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word, and knowledge of energy management systems.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, climb, stoop, crouch, move between properties, and work extended or on-call shifts during emergencies.

Nice to have

• Completion of an apprenticeship program or trade school.
• Universal Technician certification for CFCs, where required by local licensing rules.
