Senior Engineer - Loyalty Technology

Salary: $142,000–$220,500 annually

What you will do

• Lead technical strategy and design for scalable, reliable, secure loyalty technology solutions spanning multiple services and engineering workstreams.
• Design, build, and maintain services, APIs, reusable components, and Kafka-based event-driven pipelines for earning, awarding, tiering, redemption, and rewards lookup.
• Improve performance, availability, observability, security, automated testing, CI/CD, deployments, and release processes.
• Integrate loyalty services with vendors and third-party loyalty or promotions platforms.
• Analyze defects and operational bottlenecks, support complex production incidents through 24x7 on-call participation, and improve system stability.
• Mentor engineers, lead design and code reviews, and contribute to AI-native engineering practices.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience and a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java and Spring Boot, object-oriented design, application design patterns, APIs, services, data stores, cloud infrastructure, and operational tooling.
• Experience with RESTful services, event-driven applications, Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms, and AWS or GCP.
• Experience analyzing, designing, coding, testing, installing, and maintaining complex software programs.
• Experience collaborating across business, product, infrastructure, security, and engineering functions, with strong technical communication skills.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools in engineering work, with responsibility for verifying their correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, React, JavaScript, or C#.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, automated testing, and Scrum, Kanban, or Lean practices.
• Experience with system metrics, real-time alerting, reporting, dashboards, and reliability visibility.
• Experience with loyalty, rewards, points-based programs, or third-party loyalty and promotions platforms.
• Interest in advancing AI-native automation and operational practices.
