Software Development Engineer III (Java)

Location: New York, NY, United States; onsite

Total compensation: $220,000–$290,000, including base salary, annual bonus incentive, and new-hire equity.

What you will do

• Develop and deliver code across the full stack for secure, scalable identity products.
• Own complex technical problems from design through deployment.
• Define and improve engineering practices for testing, documentation, observability, and reliability.
• Partner with Product, Design, Security, Operations, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and solve complex problems.
• Make architectural decisions and drive continuous improvement across technology and processes.
• Apply privacy, security, data modeling, and architecture expertise across multiple industries and domains.

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend software development experience with Java.
• Experience with cloud-based application development and AWS.
• Fluency in several relevant technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, Argo, or Jenkins.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience collaborating with and mentoring less experienced engineers.
• Autonomy, curiosity, comfort with ambiguity, and a commitment to continuous learning.
