Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Waterloo, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work with the option to work from home or the office based on business and client needs

Salary: CAD 90,000–140,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain the agentic quality engineering orchestration platform.
• Build AI-enabled capabilities for engineering productivity, testing, quality outcomes, and software delivery.
• Design agentic workflows and integrations connecting AI agents with engineering tools, testing frameworks, and platform services.
• Develop APIs, services, applications, reusable components, and automation solutions using modern engineering practices.
• Contribute to platform architecture, technical standards, proof-of-concept work, and emerging AI engineering practices.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, troubleshoot platform issues, provide technical consultation, and support user enablement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, college diploma, or equivalent practical experience in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting software in Agile environments.
• Experience with AI agents, agentic workflows, AI-enabled software, LLM developer tooling, MCP, tool-calling APIs, and prompt or context engineering.
• Strong Python skills and experience with Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#.
• Experience developing APIs, services, integrations, automation solutions, and programmatic automated tests.
• Experience with Git-based workflows, PostgreSQL, cloud platforms, AWS, Docker, and modern application deployment patterns.

Nice to have

• Experience applying AI and agentic capabilities to testing, quality engineering, or software delivery.
• Familiarity with agent governance, evaluation frameworks, observability, and responsible AI practices.
• Experience with workflow automation, engineering productivity platforms, developer enablement, onboarding, coaching, or communities of practice.
