Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer (Healthcare)

Location: Remote, USA. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and must not require current or future employer sponsorship for a work visa.

Base salary: $145,000–$165,000 USD per year, depending on experience and geographic location.

What you will do

• Embed with clinical, product, and operations teams to own AI solutions from intake through production deployment, monitoring, and reuse.
• Define validation standards, acceptance criteria, offline and online evaluations, and escalation triggers before implementation.
• Build agentic capabilities including tool and function calling, RAG, MCP integrations, multi-step orchestration, and human-in-the-loop checkpoints.
• Architect solutions on the shared hirify.global AI platform using model serving, AWS Bedrock foundation-model contracts, evaluation harnesses, monitoring, tool registries, and prompt guardrails.
• Run initiatives through AI intake and risk categorization while collaborating with Regulatory, Privacy, and Legal on formal sign-off.
• Contribute reusable templates, registered tools, and reference architectures, while raising AI fluency through design reviews and office hours.

Requirements

• Six or more years of experience building and delivering product-grade software, including AI-powered features to production.
• Experience with LLMs and/or imaging, including tool calling, RAG, or agent orchestration; full-stack development experience is expected.
• Strong Python skills and practical cloud engineering and deployment experience, including APIs and production systems.
• Ability to evaluate models, reason about failure modes, define validation methods, and build evaluation harnesses and acceptance criteria.
• Ability to scope ambiguous product requests, translate them into validated designs, and communicate validation decisions with clinical, product, and engineering stakeholders.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience in regulated, clinical, or healthcare-data environments, including FDA, Health Canada, ISO 13485, or equivalent standards, and familiarity with PHI.
• AWS and Bedrock experience.
• MCP or experience building tool and function interfaces for other teams.
• Consulting, solutions architecture, or forward-deployed experience.
