Remote Data Engineer (Power BI)

Location: Remote, Washington, D.C.

Salary: $115,000–$130,000 per year

What you will do

• Implement and maintain a functional SQL Server Analysis Services environment.
• Build and redesign reports for transition to an analysis services environment.
• Work with the customer’s technical team to define initial requirements.
• Apply tabular, relational, and multidimensional data-modeling methodologies.
• Transform and pre-aggregate raw data for business analysis and reporting performance.
• Develop reports and document logical, physical, and reporting-environment data models.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of professional experience and a bachelor’s degree.
• At least 6 years of experience with Java and JavaScript, plus at least 3 years with SQL.
• Experience with SQL, SSAS, SSIS, star and snowflake schemas, and tabular, relational, and multidimensional data models.
• Experience building complex Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Expert understanding of ETL, data pipelines, and data warehousing.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.
• Financial data modeling and analytics experience in budgeting, financial management, or personnel environments.
• VA experience.
