Staff Analytics Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco or remote within the US or Canada

Salary: $195,000–$273,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Own the long-term architecture and technical direction of the Analytics Engineering platform.
• Design, build, and maintain governed dbt models for authoritative business metrics across Product, Engineering, Growth, Go-to-Market, and Finance.
• Define standards for data modeling, testing, documentation, version control, CI/CD, code review, lineage, and governance.
• Build semantic and context layers that support reliable self-service analytics for people and AI tools.
• Partner with analysts, scientists, Data Engineering, and business stakeholders to turn domain logic into scalable warehouse models.
• Improve source data quality, BigQuery performance, cost efficiency, and team adoption of analytics engineering practices.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related technical field, including 3+ years running dbt in production.
• Expert SQL skills and experience designing scalable Kimball dimensional models.
• Deep knowledge of Git, testing, CI/CD, documentation, data contracts, lineage, and governance.
• Experience with semantic layers, trusted metrics, cloud data warehouses, and self-service analytics for humans and AI agents.
• Experience with BigQuery, Databricks, or Snowflake, including performance optimization and cost efficiency.
• Strong communication, technical leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with hirify.global’s analytics stack, including BigQuery, Segment, dbt, Metabase, or Mixpanel.
• Experience with developer-focused, product-led, sales-led, or usage-based businesses.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, PaaS, developer tooling, or other technically complex products.
• Experience using Codex, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar AI-assisted coding and analytics tools.
