Senior Analytics Engineer, Financial Systems Engineering

What you will do

• Build and maintain invoicing, reimbursement, revenue recognition, claim cost, obligor, and reinsurer reporting models in dbt.
• Reconcile inbound merchant data, operational databases, the data warehouse, and accounting systems through automated tie-outs.
• Investigate variances and reported data issues, establish sources of truth, quantify impact, and drive fixes to their root cause.
• Validate claim and service-order expenses, automate reimbursement paths, and build financial controls for loss ratios, anomalies, attribution gaps, and unexpected expenses.
• Investigate and correct production API data while partnering with engineering teams on upstream fixes.
• Support internal and external audits with traceable, documented, and reproducible results.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience in analytics engineering or data engineering.
• Experience building analytical or financial models in dbt or an equivalent tool with version control, testing, and pull request reviews.
• Strong SQL skills for working with large financial datasets and tracing complex models.
• Experience with reconciliation, source-of-truth analysis, financial data, and root-cause investigation.
• API fluency, clear written communication, and the ability to work effectively with accountants, account owners, and engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with merchant reconciliation, warranty, insurance, or service-contract programs.
• Knowledge of claims and reimbursements, order-to-cash systems, NetSuite, or obligor and reinsurer reporting.
• Experience with AI-assisted workflows for operational triage.
