Data Infrastructure Engineer (Data Platforms/SaaS): Building scalable data infrastructure, centralized data lakes, and streaming applications for a high-growth SaaS platform with an accent on production reliability, security, and data availability. Focus on designing AWS-based pipelines, implementing replication and change data capture, and translating analytics and product needs into robust technical systems.
Location: Remote within Canada
Annual salary: CAD $121,600–$190,000; most new hires join at CAD $144,400. Equity is also included through the JSOP.

What you will do
- Deploy robust, production-grade data infrastructure that scales with business growth while balancing innovation, reliability, and operational stability.
- Contribute to the architecture, implementation, security, and maintenance of a centralized data lake.
- Design and build high-performance streaming applications and database replication or change data capture pipelines.
- Own infrastructure projects end to end, including design, production deployment, operations, documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer.
- Partner with analytics, product, and platform teams to translate data needs into technical requirements and improve systems based on usage.
- Use AI to accelerate documentation, research, boilerplate work, and knowledge synthesis.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with production data infrastructure in a SaaS or data-heavy environment.
- Strong SQL and data warehouse fundamentals, including ETL/ELT, schema design, query optimization, and performance troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Amazon MSK, AWS Glue, and Terraform.
- Experience with modern data lake and warehouse technologies, particularly Apache Iceberg and Snowflake.
- Experience with replication and change data capture using Kafka, Debezium, Flink, or Spark.
- Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly to engineering and non-technical stakeholders.

- Experience with Ruby on Rails monolithic applications.
