Mechanical Engineer II (Industrial Generators)

What you will do

• Design, validate, and bring new industrial, commercial, residential, and retail generator or power tool products to market.
• Create and maintain CAD models, engineering drawings, and bills of materials.
• Define functional requirements, design and integrate moderately complex components, and evaluate cost, reliability, risk, safety, and overall effectiveness.
• Develop and execute fitness-for-use testing, product specifications, and process validation plans.
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers, product specialists, quality, sourcing, and other cross-functional teams to improve manufacturability.
• Provide technical support for assigned projects and help develop less experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with 3D modeling using Creo, ProE, or SolidWorks.
• Ability to solve moderate to complex engineering problems and perform detail-oriented work accurately.
• Written communication, presentation, decision-making, and technical communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

Nice to have

• Experience designing with plastics, aluminum castings, sheet metal, and other materials.
• New product design and development experience.
• Experience with FEA, CFD, or similar engineering analysis.
• Experience with SAP or an equivalent ERP system.
