Engineer I, Electromechanical (R6042)

What you will do

• Support electromechanical design for avionics packaging, electrical interconnects, thermal management, and aircraft integration.
• Create and update 3D models, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and design documentation using CAD tools.
• Assist with structural, thermal, and modal analyses under the guidance of experienced engineers.
• Define and document mechanical interfaces for circuit cards, connectors, wiring, and harnesses in collaboration with electrical engineers.
• Investigate design and manufacturing issues, evaluate solutions, and document results.
• Support prototype builds, system integration, environmental testing, failure analysis, and flight-test readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
• Understanding of mechanics, materials, heat transfer, and manufacturing processes.
• Academic, internship, project, or hands-on experience with CAD software such as NX, SolidWorks, or CATIA.
• Ability to create or interpret basic engineering drawings and mechanical layouts.
• Familiarity with electromechanical systems, circuit cards, connectors, wiring, and harness integration.
• Ability to complete well-defined engineering tasks with guidance, communicate clearly, accept feedback, and collaborate in a fast-paced development environment.

Nice to have

• Internship, co-op, student-team, research, or project experience involving UAVs, aircraft, robotics, electronics packaging, or other electromechanical systems.
• Ability to obtain an S//SAR-level security clearance.
