System Design Engineer (Semiconductor)

Base pay range: $159,500–$233,967 annually.

What you will do

• Understand the fundamental physics behind proposed inspection methods and the problems they address.
• Derive subsystem requirements with optics and opto-mechanical engineers.
• Develop layouts, design concepts, and detailed designs for R&D inspection benches from scratch.
• Select key modules including light sources, optics, sensors, cameras, and stages.
• Assemble, align, integrate, and qualify inspection benches through image-quality, data-path, vibration, and thermal testing.
• Run inspections on customer wafers and reticles, communicate recommendations, and hand off validated concepts to product development teams.

Requirements

• Doctorate with 0 years of related experience, or a master’s degree with 3 years of related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related experience.
• Experience relevant to system design, semiconductor inspection, optics, opto-mechanics, or related engineering work.
• Ability to collaborate with research scientists, optics engineers, opto-mechanical engineers, product teams, and marketing.
