Application Engineer (Semiconductor): Developing and deploying fault-isolation methodologies for XADA in advanced semiconductor applications with an accent on die-level fault localization, failure analysis, and customer workflow adoption. Location: Benicia, California, United States; onsite role with approximately 10% travel. Relocation eligible.

Salary: $108,000–$148,500 per year

What you will do

  • Develop and optimize XADA workflows for die-level fault localization, semiconductor failure analysis, and root-cause determination.
  • Lead complex application activities, customer evaluations, beta-site work, system demonstrations, and implementation schedules.
  • Analyze customer technical requirements and define or approve application support plans for system installation.
  • Create new methodologies to optimize system performance for specific semiconductor applications.
  • Develop and transfer application capabilities from product divisions to customer application support teams.
  • Lead customer technical review meetings and collaborate with product engineering, R&D, and customers.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of semiconductor industry experience in failure analysis, silicon debug, product engineering, or applications engineering.
  • Experience developing, documenting, and transferring application workflows and customer deployment practices.
  • Experience with fault localization techniques such as LADA, LVP, SDL, or related semiconductor failure analysis methods.
  • Experience with Advantest V93000 (93K) or equivalent ATE systems for device characterization and debug.
  • Familiarity with DFT methodologies and CAD-based debug tools.
