Freight & Logistics Engineer

Location: Hybrid role ideally based in Greater Tucson, Arizona, or Richmond, Indiana, with travel to various sites in the US.

Base compensation: $75,000–$100,000 per year, plus benefits and additional incentives.

What you will do

• Build freight analytics, dashboards, KPI reporting, spend analyses, and cost models across the Americas.
• Improve freight visibility, data accuracy, lane optimization, load planning, mode selection, and routing guide compliance.
• Develop savings business cases, track implementation, validate financial impact, and document results.
• Monitor carrier performance through scorecards, SLAs, tender acceptance, OTD/OTIF, claims, invoice accuracy, and corrective actions.
• Support carrier sourcing, RFQ/RFP analysis, rate benchmarking, routing guides, playbooks, and process documentation.
• Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Distribution Centers, Finance, Procurement, Customer Service, Trade Compliance, Digital/IT, and carriers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business, Operations, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in freight, logistics, transportation analytics, supply chain, or procurement operations.
• Strong analytical skills with experience building freight cost models, KPI dashboards, and spend analyses.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with BI or reporting tools.
• Knowledge of freight modes, cost structures, Incoterms, carrier economics, and supply chain fundamentals.
• Fluent English required; Spanish is a plus.

Nice to have

• Experience with Transportation Management Systems and ERP systems, preferably SAP S/4HANA.
• Knowledge of freight audit, invoice validation, rate management, and carrier RFQ/RFP processes.
• Familiarity with load planning, mode shifting, lane consolidation, and network design.
