Junior Process Engineer (Mining and Metals)

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah, United States; in-office environment with occasional remote flexibility and travel to project sites, including remote sites

What you will do

• Support multidisciplinary process engineering teams on mining, metals, battery chemical, and rare earth projects.
• Assist with process control, simulation, automation, prediction, and operations models.
• Interpret simulation and field data and help develop test work programs.
• Prepare engineering documents and calculations, including mass and energy balances, design criteria, reports, layouts, hazard studies, and cost estimates.
• Assist with project management within defined scope, schedule, and budget.
• Coordinate with engineers and technicians, support detailed design, and prepare drawings and project documentation.

Requirements

• Recent or soon-to-be graduate with a preferred bachelor's or master's degree in chemical engineering, metallurgical engineering, extractive metallurgy, or a related field.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and a strong academic record.
• Knowledge of engineering and business fundamentals, with strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Willingness and ability to travel to project sites, including remote sites.

Nice to have

• Co-op or summer experience in metallurgical or chemical process plants or engineering.
• Academic or professional experience with process modeling, process equipment, and process engineering deliverables.
