What you will do

• Lead process and utility engineering design across all project phases in accordance with applicable industry codes and standards.
• Scope projects and establish design bases, budgets, schedules, and engineering assumptions.
• Create process flow diagrams, material balances, and piping and instrumentation diagrams.
• Prepare equipment datasheets and mechanical equipment specifications for purchasing process equipment.
• Interpret plant operating data with clients and improve process designs using engineering judgment.
• Evaluate process safety, design safety equipment, and act as a technical subject matter expert and quality control reviewer.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university or college.
• 8–10 years of process chemical engineering experience, preferably in a design firm.
• Experience with large capital projects for clients in multiple industries.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.
• Ability to use ASME and API codes for vessel and piping design.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer license and ability to obtain licenses in multiple states.
• Operations, process start-up, or construction experience.
• Process development experience involving new processes and products.
• Experience with process safety, process hazards analyses, and HAZOP studies.
• Experience with AFT Fathom, AFT Arrow, HTRI, or similar process engineering software.
