Senior Development Underwriter - D&O

Location: Manchester or Leeds, United Kingdom; hybrid schedule with three days per week in the office and two days at home

What you will do

• Underwrite and assess complex D&O, management liability, and related insurance risks within delegated authority.
• Make pricing, retention, limits, endorsements, indemnity, and security decisions that support profitability.
• Develop new business across the North region, manage renewals, grow broker relationships, and expand existing accounts.
• Create and execute sales plans, identify new opportunities, and cross-sell hirify.global products.
• Maintain accurate underwriting documentation and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Coach and mentor Development Underwriters while collaborating with sales, claims, actuarial, risk control, and other business units.

Requirements

• Previous underwriting experience in management liability, professional indemnity, or financial institutions is required.
• University degree and/or Chartered Insurance Institute Advanced Certification or Diploma preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance operations, financial drivers, the local insurance marketplace, and the Lloyd's Market.
• Intermediate relationship management, business perspective, analytical thinking, financial acumen, and product or technical underwriting skills.
• Ability to make sound quoting and pricing decisions and manage broker and client relationships.
