Sourcing Manager (Chemicals)

Location: Corporate office or hybrid office environment in The Woodlands, Houston, Texas, United States; periodic travel may be required for supplier visits, business meetings, or manufacturing site support.

What you will do

• Manage chemical and raw material categories and execute strategic sourcing plans aligned with business and financial objectives.
• Develop category strategies using spend analysis, demand forecasts, supplier capabilities, market dynamics, logistics, and risk assessments.
• Lead RFQs, RFPs, supplier evaluations, sourcing initiatives, and commercial negotiations.
• Analyze cost structures and total cost of ownership to support sourcing decisions, pricing forecasts, savings estimates, and budgeting.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance expectations, contracts, corrective actions, supply assurance, and business continuity plans.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Technology, Quality, Legal, and other stakeholders while ensuring compliance with procurement and trade requirements.

Requirements

• Unrestricted right to work for hirify.global in the United States is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Chemistry, Finance, or a related discipline; alternatively, an associate degree or diploma with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Typically 6–8 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, chemical trading, supply chain, or related commercial disciplines.
• Experience leading sourcing events, supplier negotiations, commercial evaluations, and contract implementation.
• Knowledge of chemical or industrial markets, cost structures, market indices, supply-demand dynamics, strategic sourcing, and category management.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience sourcing direct materials, chemicals, feedstocks, or categories supporting manufacturing operations.
• Knowledge of global logistics, Incoterms, customs, international trade practices, and landed cost evaluation.
• Experience with ERP systems, e-sourcing platforms, Microsoft 365, data analytics, and visualization tools.
• Advanced training or certification in negotiation, project management, procurement, or finance.
