Director Product and Client Support - DBC Finance (Municipal Finance)

Location: Union, New Jersey, United States; hybrid work model. Salary ranges are listed for New Jersey and New York.

Base salary: $130,000–$140,000 annually in New Jersey or New York. Discretionary annual bonus and/or equity awards may also be available.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary client contact for DBC Finance software, handling product inquiries, issue resolution, user guidance, training, and adoption.
• Gather business requirements and define, prioritize, and document product enhancements based on client needs and business value.
• Collaborate with product development teams to translate requirements into functional solutions and support release planning, testing, validation, and market readiness.
• Maintain product roadmaps and connect executive leadership, end users, technical teams, internal business units, and external partners.
• Monitor municipal finance trends, regulatory developments, emerging technologies, and competitors to identify opportunities and product differentiation strategies.
• Establish acceptance criteria, validate deliverables, monitor milestones, and advocate for customer needs throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of progressive experience in finance, preferably municipal finance.
• Experience with a municipal issuer, financial institution or bank, municipal advisor, or financial technology/software organization serving municipal finance clients.
• Background in product management, product development, business analysis, project management, or client-facing consulting.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, debt issuance, municipal financing structures, and related workflows.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills, including communication with executive and technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• MBA, CPA, or another advanced financial or business credential.
• Experience with financial software, SaaS platforms, or enterprise applications.
• Knowledge of product management methodologies, requirements documentation, product roadmaps, and release management.
• Experience with cross-functional and distributed teams.
• Familiarity with automation or workflow management technologies.
