Mission Operations Specialist - Fort Hood

Location: Remote, based out of Fort Hood, United States; field travel and on-site customer deployments required, with up to 30% domestic and occasional international travel.

Base salary: $75,000–$110,000 per year.

What you will do

• Install hirify.global hardware, sensors, networking equipment, and cabling on military and commercial platforms.
• Configure and update software applications, Windows/Linux operating systems, and system images.
• Execute installation procedures, startup checklists, and operational verification tests.
• Lead on-site integration, upgrades, and preventative maintenance alongside customers and Mission Deployment Engineers.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and installation issues, escalating complex problems when needed.
• Document configurations and test results while maintaining deployment kits, tools, and equipment.

Requirements

• 1–4 years of experience supporting technical equipment, field installations, electronics, networking, IT systems, or related hands-on technologies.
• Proficiency with hand tools, basic electronic test equipment, Windows, and Ethernet/IP communications.
• Hands-on experience with hardware assembly, software installation, system testing, and technical troubleshooting in field environments.
• Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to read technical procedures; ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Associate degree, technical certification, military technical training, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Active U.S. security clearance or the ability and willingness to obtain one is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with military land-based transport vehicles and communication systems.
• Military technical experience in electronics, communications, aviation, maritime, maintenance, IT, or defense.
• Experience supporting DoD, aerospace, maritime, rail, or industrial customers.
• Familiarity with Linux, multimeters, logic analyzers, wiring diagrams, installation drawings, ruggedized computers, sensors, or networking equipment.
