Senior Project Engineer

Location: United States; candidate must be located in or around the Boston area. Boston, MA hybrid. The role requires travel for project work at least once a month and regular night and weekend work for off-hours upgrades and migrations.

Salary: $130,000–$170,000 annual compensation, with possible bonus or incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead complex infrastructure, cloud, end-user, and security projects from design and configuration through deployment, post-implementation support, and closeout.
• Execute email, file-sharing, server, office network, security, office relocation, audio/video, and phone-system migrations.
• Partner with Project Managers, engineers, support teams, vendors, and client stakeholders to manage scope, schedules, budgets, reporting, and outcomes.
• Provide senior technical guidance, troubleshooting, escalation support, and technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
• Deliver end-user training and support successful adoption of new systems and technologies.
• Create and maintain runbooks, network diagrams, IP schemas, configuration guides, build documentation, and user-facing documentation.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of hands-on experience in IT systems architecture, deployment, support, and best practices.
• Advanced technical certifications such as VMware, Microsoft, Cisco, or Fortinet certifications.
• Experience with VMware vSphere, Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange Server, VPN clients, firewalls, wireless technologies, remote desktop, cloud services, storage, and backup solutions.
• Must be located in or around Boston and able to work in a hybrid Boston, MA arrangement.
• Must be able to travel for project work at least monthly and work nights and weekends when required for off-hours upgrades and migrations.
