Senior Systems Administrator (Linux)

Location: Hybrid role based at 1021 W Adams St, Chicago, IL

What you will do

• Provide primary IT support for hardware, software, networking, account, and employee technology issues.
• Administer macOS, iOS, Windows, and Linux endpoints, including provisioning, patching, security, inventory, onboarding, offboarding, and hardware refreshes.
• Manage corporate networks, including Ubiquiti switches, wireless infrastructure, firewalls, VPNs, conferencing systems, and office connectivity.
• Administer Google Workspace, identity and access management, email security, endpoint protection, and incident response.
• Maintain and secure on-premises Ubuntu/Debian Linux servers, including backups, monitoring, hardening, and troubleshooting.
• Improve infrastructure reliability through vendor management, documentation, automation, cybersecurity initiatives, and CI/CD pipeline maintenance.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in corporate IT administration or a similar systems administration role.
• Experience supporting macOS, Linux, and Windows endpoints at scale, including MDM, patch management, endpoint security, and device lifecycle management.
• Hands-on experience with on-premises Linux servers, CLI tools, shell scripting, networking, hardening, infrastructure automation, and CI/CD.
• Strong experience with firewalls, switches, wireless networks, VPNs, office connectivity, identity platforms, email security, and EDR/XDR.
• Experience evaluating and implementing IT platforms, managing vendors, and making technical purchasing decisions.
• Strong troubleshooting, written communication, verbal communication, and customer-focused employee support skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ubiquiti or UniFi networking equipment.
