Systems Engineer (Networking)

Location: Remote, Reading, United Kingdom

OTE: £60,000–£65,000 annually, with a 70/30 split based on qualifications and experience.

What you will do

• Provide technology and product consulting and technical sales support for account opportunities.
• Deliver technical presentations and support customer, prospect, and channel-partner engagements.
• Prepare RFI/RFP responses and design solutions that meet customer requirements.
• Organize and lead proof-of-concept activities, including success criteria, lab work, evaluations, and demonstrations.
• Participate as a networking specialist on virtual teams and customer project teams.
• Develop trusted-advisor relationships with customers and partners, with domestic and international travel required.

Requirements

• Successful pre-sales engineering experience in a similar industry and territory-focused role.
• Excellent presentation skills and experience with major accounts and deal closure.
• Strong knowledge of Layer 2/3 switching, IPv4/IPv6 routing, overlay networking, VPNs, Wi-Fi design, and network security principles.
• Hands-on laboratory experience and the ability to contribute to customer project teams, solution designs, and PoC labs.
• Ability to build and maintain customer and partner relationships and support customer evaluations and detailed design requirements.
• Willingness to assume a team-lead role when additional account resources are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud technologies, cloud-based network management platforms, virtualization, network orchestration, SD-WAN, automation scripting, and APIs.
• Experience working with partners on technical product training.
• hirify.global or other recognized industry certifications.
• Knowledge of future technology trends and market directions.
