Senior Systems Engineer (NSGS)

Location: Alexandria, Virginia, United States; hybrid position with travel to remote operational locations

Salary: $120,000–$145,000 annually

What you will do

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize infrastructure supporting the NSGS team and daily operations.
• Travel to remote operational sites to assess systems, install hardware upgrades, integrate equipment, and perform hands-on troubleshooting.
• Identify and resolve system and network performance bottlenecks to maintain operational availability.
• Coordinate infrastructure upgrades and system modifications with technical leads, field technicians, engineering groups, and stakeholders.
• Develop technical documentation, standard operating procedures, configuration records, and acquisition package support.
• Quality-check changes and mentor junior and mid-level engineers on operational best practices.

Requirements

• At least 9 years of experience with a high school diploma or equivalent experience.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification, such as Security+ CE or CySA+.
• Senior systems engineering experience supporting large-scale federal IT infrastructure, enterprise systems, or military networks.
• Experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining complex enterprise or tactical hardware environments.
• Active Secret clearance required.
• Ability to travel to remote operational sites and strong technical communication and documentation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting U.S. Coast Guard missions, NSGS, C5I, or similar technical directorates.
• CCNA, MCSA, ITIL, or other technical certifications.
• Experience with secure network infrastructure, virtualization, storage area networks, field logistics, or federal cybersecurity compliance.
