Etch Maintenance Technician Apprentice (D Shift Nights) (Semiconductor)

Location: Malta, New York, USA. Onsite role requiring alternating 12-hour day or night shifts; the D night shift runs Wednesday to Saturday in week one and Wednesday to Friday in week two, from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM.

Salary: $36,200–$59,200 per year.

What you will do

• Monitor, control, and test semiconductor equipment for manufacturing readiness.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on assigned equipment and tool sets.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electronic, pneumatic, computer, and software-related equipment issues.
• Recover equipment from process interruptions, document events, and communicate shift handoffs to lead technicians and engineers.
• Work with production team members and area engineers to sustain and improve equipment and processes.
• Complete required apprenticeship coursework and on-the-job training toward eligibility for promotion to Level 2 Maintenance Technician.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; no prior experience is required.
• English fluency in written and verbal communication is required.
• Basic reading, writing, computer navigation, Windows, Microsoft Office, and Outlook skills.
• Ability to work safely in a semiconductor cleanroom while wearing required cleanroom clothing and PPE.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, use hand tools, and work at a computer for most of a 12-hour shift; ability to periodically lift or carry at least 50 pounds.
• Availability for flexible alternating day and night shifts is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in automotive repair, HVAC, aviation, cable installation, telecommunications, electrical work, or computer routing.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and electrical diagrams.
• Experience with hand tools, structured troubleshooting, statistical process control, and continuous improvement.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
