Forward Deployed Software Engineer (US Government)

Location: Kitsap, WA, United States; on-site

Salary: $135,000–$200,000 per year

What you will do

• Work directly with customers to understand complex operational problems and design data-driven solutions.
• Own end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects in small teams with minimal supervision.
• Discuss architecture, wrangle massive-scale data, and develop custom web applications.
• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, Deployment Strategists, customer executives, and other technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Establish technical and team strategy while making independent decisions in changing environments.
• Travel and work with customers on site as needed.

Requirements

• Active US Security Clearance at or above the Secret level.
• Strong engineering background in computer science, mathematics, software engineering, physics, or a related field.
• Strong coding skills in Python, Java, C++, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar languages.
• Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and related technical tools.
• Ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams, learn continuously, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work on site in Kitsap, Washington, and willingness to travel as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience with logistics, materiel, sustainment, aviation, or readiness analysis.
