Software Engineer - On Call

Location: Middletown, Rhode Island, United States; must be local to the work location. Flexible for occasional telework.

Salary: $22.00–$28.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Understand and modify applications using Linux, Windows, C++, React, CSS, and Python.
• Create and update software and test documentation.
• Support software development, evaluation, system integration, and testing.
• Develop test plans and procedures and support unit and system integration testing.
• Deliver software products on schedule and with high quality.
• Work within an Agile Scrum environment using software engineering standards and common development tools.

Requirements

• High school education and 5–6 years of relevant experience.
• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Object-oriented programming experience in C++.
• Familiarity with Eclipse, Jira, Bamboo, and Git.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work locally in Middletown, Rhode Island, with occasional telework.

Nice to have

• Experience developing under UNIX- or Linux-based systems.
• Experience with web development or databases.
