Software Engineer, Public Sector - New Grad (AI)

Base salary: $124,000–$162,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Build product systems that ingest and process large federal datasets for real-time decision-making.
• Develop guardrails, RAG pipelines, agent orchestration, anomaly detection, and model evaluation infrastructure.
• Create auditable interfaces that explain agent decisions and enable analysts to query, visualize, and explore mission data.
• Build data pipelines and ML infrastructure that connect previously siloed government data sources.
• Deploy and harden applications in secure, air-gapped, and cloud-native government environments.
• Work directly with government stakeholders to ship and iterate on mission-facing features.

Requirements

• Graduation in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 with a bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, EECS, computer engineering, statistics, or a related field.
• Product engineering experience building full-stack web applications, integrating APIs and services, and iterating based on user needs.
• Previous product or software engineering internship experience.
• Experience shipping high-quality products at hirify.global and building systems that process large volumes of data.
• Experience with Python, TypeScript, React, and/or MongoDB.
• Strong written and verbal communication, comfort with ambiguity, and willingness to learn new domains quickly.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLMs, evaluations, or agentic systems.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to ETL, data modeling, data warehousing, or data governance.
• Interest or experience in national security, defense, or civil government technology.
• Open-source contributions or shipped side projects.
