Splicer Fully Qualified (East Springfield, MA)

Location: East Springfield, Massachusetts, United States. The role requires living within 30 minutes of the reporting location for trouble-call assignments and may involve emergency response outside normal work hours and location.

Salary: $59.19 per hour, effective October 1, 2026, in accordance with the union contract.

What you will do

• Install, operate, and maintain underground cable systems.
• Install, operate, and maintain aerial cable systems.
• Respond to trouble calls and emergency restoration assignments.
• Complete work related to switching and tagging requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a Cable Splicer progression program and fully qualified splicer status.
• Valid motor vehicle license and a current Commercial Driver’s License.
• Live within 30 minutes of the reporting location.
• Successfully pass the CAST Test, underground fully qualified assessment, agility assessment, and APL requirements for switching and tagging.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants must not require immigration-related sponsorship to start employment.
