Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States. The role requires reporting to the designated work location, frequent extensive travel, and extended stays at job sites within the assigned seniority region. Relocation assistance is not available.

What you will do
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical systems in railway buildings and facilities.
- Work with high-voltage distribution systems up to 15 kV and low-voltage commercial and industrial systems.
- Install conduit, wiring, lighting systems, and electrical services.
- Maintain electrical systems for HVAC equipment, boilers, furnaces, cranes, turntables, lifts, and fueling stations.
- Operate bucket trucks, digger-derricks, trenchers, pole climbers, measuring instruments, hand tools, and power tools.
- Follow safety procedures while working around extreme weather, loud noise, fumes, uneven surfaces, and heavy or moving machinery.
Requirements
- Must be able to work in the United States without current or future BNSF assistance obtaining, maintaining, or extending employment authorization.
- Must be at least 21 years old by the anticipated start date of August 24, 2026.
- At least four years of verifiable electrical training and/or experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical and PLC control systems.
- Valid Class A CDL or the ability to obtain one within the first 120 days of employment.
- English communication skills are required.
- Ability to travel extensively, work variable shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, on-call hours, and overtime, lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders and poles, and work from boom truck baskets.
