TL;DR
E&C Tech, Level 1-4 (Aurora, CO) (Gas Pipelines): Maintaining and repairing electrical power, instrumentation, automation, PLC, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic control systems for gas pipeline and compressor facilities with an accent on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and safety. Focus on responding to equipment failures, maintaining power distribution and grounding systems, supporting third-party maintenance, and working in demanding field conditions.

Location: Onsite in Aurora, Colorado; must live within a reasonable 60-minute response time of Watkins Station. Travel, call-outs, overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Salary: USD $40.00–$56.00 per hour

What you will do

  • Install, inspect, maintain, operate, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and adjust pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and PLC control systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspection checks on pumps, compressors, drivers, auxiliary equipment, and facility control systems.
  • Maintain electrical switchgear, power distribution, grounding systems, security systems, and intrusion systems.
  • Analyze testing results and implement system changes while supporting corrosion and engineering activities.
  • Oversee third-party construction and maintenance work, document completed work, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
  • Respond to call-outs and maintain facilities and equipment in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with 1–3 years of equivalent instrumentation, automation, or electrical-controls experience.
  • Working knowledge of National Electric Codes and the ability to read electrical and mechanical blueprints and diagrams.
  • Knowledge of electronic test instruments, basic computer and math skills, and strong verbal and written communication.
  • Valid driver’s license meeting company insurability requirements; a commercial driver’s license may be required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain operator qualifications and required job-specific certifications.
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather, enter confined spaces, climb elevated platforms and ladders, wear required PPE, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

  • Associate degree in a technical field.
  • Intermediate computer skills, mechanical or automotive experience, or automotive certification.
  • Knowledge of process controls, gas processing fundamentals, and safe handling of flammable gases and high- and low-pressure systems.
