Senior Software Engineer (AWS)

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada; the role may require in-person onboarding and/or in-person identity verification.

Salary: CAD 107,000–157,300 annual base salary, with potential bonuses, stock grants, and benefits.

What you will do

• Build and maintain resilient microservices and REST or GraphQL APIs on AWS Cloud.
• Develop cloud-based services and frontends supporting user management and product access.
• Implement functionality across distributed components and services in a CI/CD environment.
• Support production systems through deployments, troubleshooting, on-call support, monitoring, and alerting.
• Improve telemetry gathering, reporting, system reliability, availability, and performance.
• Collaborate with colleagues across geographically diverse teams and share technical knowledge.

Requirements

• At least five years of professional experience developing distributed cloud applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Extensive AWS, serverless programming, event-driven architecture, and cloud architecture experience.
• Experience with CI/CD and tools including Jenkins, Harness, Terraform, Docker, and EC2.
• Strong JavaScript-based programming skills, including Node and React, plus experience designing APIs.
• Experience with automated testing, relational or NoSQL databases, Redis, and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Splunk, or Dynatrace.
