Full Stack Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. Hybrid work with onsite attendance required Tuesday through Thursday each week, plus additional onsite attendance as needed.

Starting base salary: CAD 124,000–150,000 annually for intermediate-level candidates and CAD 152,000–190,000 annually for senior-level candidates. Equity is also part of the total compensation plan.

What you will do

• Design and ship full-stack features across React and React Native frontends, TypeScript GraphQL services, Go backend services, APIs, and data systems.
• Build onboarding, business verification, send flows, payment requests, receiving, and reporting capabilities for hirify.global Business.
• Develop secure, scalable, well-tested, resilient, and observable systems for money movement at scale.
• Implement idempotent payment flows with correct ledgering, reconciliation, and compliance gating.
• Use spec-driven and AI-assisted development tools while owning architecture, verification, correctness, and product decisions.
• Define technical roadmaps, mentor engineers, conduct code and architecture reviews, and collaborate with Product, Design, Analytics, Compliance, Infrastructure, and Operations.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of engineering experience in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
• Full-stack development experience with React, TypeScript, and Go.
• Experience designing secure, scalable, and performant software on cloud infrastructure such as AWS.
• Experience leading large features, breaking work into workstreams, estimating timelines, and coaching through reviews and retrospectives.
• Clear written and in-person communication, including the ability to explain technical trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
