What you will do

• Design power, lighting, grounding and bonding, special systems, raceways, cable trays, and electrical controls for built environments.
• Perform illumination, power load, short-circuit, voltage-drop, conduit, and wire-sizing calculations.
• Prepare basis-of-design reports, narratives, drawings, one-line diagrams, schedules, installation details, and construction documentation.
• Coordinate designs with architects, engineers, designers, manufacturers, construction partners, and other internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct basic field investigations and integrate designs with existing systems and structures.
• Support one or more projects across studies, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration under the direction of an experienced engineer.

Requirements

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
• 0–3 years of experience, preferably in a design-firm environment.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Fundamental ability to perform electrical design calculations and develop electrical lighting, power, and special systems designs under supervision.
• Ability to coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, designers, and external partners.
• Ability to travel as required for client development and project execution.

Nice to have

• Relevant design-firm experience.
• Registration for or completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
• Experience conducting field surveys and supporting field reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
