Junior Commissioning Engineer

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. The role is primarily office-based, with remote work available when needed, and may require travel to project, supplier, and other hirify.global office sites.

What you will do

• Support commissioning planning, setup, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
• Develop test plans and commissioning procedures, participate in field testing, and troubleshoot or optimize underperforming equipment.
• Provide technical input for testing, data collection, progress measurement, documentation, estimates, budgets, forecasts, schedules, proposals, and presentations.
• Lead development and implementation of commissioning management systems and support global projects using related software.
• Review P&IDs, flow diagrams, single-line diagrams, network architecture drawings, and engineering registers to prepare execution plans and identify project acceleration opportunities.
• Coordinate commissioning requirements with construction, engineering, procurement, prefabrication, and modularization activities.

Requirements

• Recent or upcoming university or college graduate with a preferred bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, computer, mechanical, chemical, or process engineering.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and strong engineering and business fundamentals.
• Strong organizational, communication, critical-thinking, creative problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to change, and take on new challenges.
• Willingness to travel to hirify.global offices, project sites, and supplier sites as required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Visio or similar tools for communicating commissioning sequences, organizational charts, and workflows.
• Co-op experience in project execution, commissioning, or construction on industrial projects.
• Aspiration to become a commissioning manager, project manager, or group lead.
