Proposal Technical Writer (AI)

What you will do

• Lead technical, management, staffing, transition, and quality control proposal volumes for RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, and task orders.
• Analyze federal solicitations, including Sections L and M, and align responses with evaluation criteria and win strategies.
• Create solution graphics, process flows, storyboards, and visual representations of technical concepts.
• Develop and tailor key personnel resumes and past performance narratives.
• Collaborate with proposal, capture, design, architecture, and subject matter experts while incorporating color team review feedback.
• Use AI tools and an internal RAG tool for research and drafting, verifying all outputs for accuracy, compliance, and quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, business, a technical discipline, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5–10+ years of experience supporting federal proposal development.
• Experience leading or significantly contributing to technical proposal volumes.
• Expertise in federal proposal resumes and past performance volumes, with strong knowledge of FAR-based solicitations.
• Exceptional writing, editing, content structuring, organization, and deadline-management skills.
• Ability to work in McLean, Virginia, USA.

Nice to have

• APMP Foundations certification.
• Experience with large complex proposals, $50M+ opportunities, or IDIQs.
• Government contracting, consulting, or professional services experience.
• Experience with IT modernization, cloud, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, data analytics, or AI/ML proposals.
• Experience mentoring junior writers and improving proposal processes, templates, and content libraries.
