Director of Corporate Development

Location: Remote

Salary: $130,000–$180,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Evaluate acquisition opportunities by building financial, valuation, returns, payback, and scenario models.
• Analyze historical and projected performance, including revenue, EBITDA, margins, working capital, cash flow, and operating drivers.
• Prepare executive, Board, investor, and Investment Committee presentations, screening summaries, investment memoranda, and transaction updates.
• Support M&A execution from initial screening through valuation, diligence, negotiation, closing, and integration planning.
• Coordinate diligence across finance, operations, HR, technology, legal, tax, insurance, and other functions.
• Maintain the acquisition pipeline, conduct market mapping, support outreach, and contribute to post-acquisition integration and synergy tracking.

Requirements

• 10–12 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, M&A consulting, or a related transaction-oriented finance role.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, including valuation, acquisition returns, payback calculations, sensitivity analysis, and scenario modeling.
• Exceptional PowerPoint skills with the ability to create clear, executive-ready presentations.
• Strong financial acumen and ability to interpret financial statements, quality of earnings findings, and business drivers.
• Familiarity with M&A processes, diligence coordination, legal documentation, and negotiation dynamics.
• Strong communication, organization, discretion, accuracy, and ability to manage multiple transaction workstreams.

Nice to have

• Experience with professional services, consulting, engineering, architecture, environmental, fire protection, or technical advisory businesses.
• Experience in a private equity-backed or acquisitive environment.
• Exposure to proprietary sourcing, competitive auctions, post-merger integration, or international transactions.
