Managing Director, Global Head of Valuations (Private Equity): Leading valuation strategy and quarterly valuation processes across a global portfolio of 300+ companies with an accent on fair value analysis, financial modeling, and valuation governance. Focus on reviewing Level 3 assets under FASB ASC 820, assessing risk and valuation assumptions, and advising senior leadership on portfolio monitoring and exit planning.
Location: Hybrid work between the New York City office and telecommuting from another U.S. location
Salary: $425,000–$500,000 per year

What you will do
- Lead valuation strategy and the global valuation function across a portfolio of more than 300 companies.
- Oversee internal teams and external valuation providers while reviewing valuation models and outputs.
- Analyze portfolio performance, forecast financials, prepare analytics and present insights to senior leadership and valuation committees.
- Set fair value adjustment policies and strengthen valuation governance across investment strategies and asset classes.
- Assess valuation risks, uncertainties, assumptions and implications for portfolio monitoring and exit planning.
- Improve valuation processes through technology solutions, process redesign and collaboration with auditors and third-party valuation firms.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Business Administration with a Finance or Accounting concentration, or Finance, plus at least three years of relevant experience; alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in the same fields plus five years of progressive post-Bachelor’s experience.
- Experience must be in the offered position or as a Vice President or Senior Vice President at a global private equity or alternative investment firm.
- Experience developing fair value estimates and performing quarterly valuations for debt and equity investment portfolios.
- Experience building financial models using Discounted Cash Flow, Comparable Company and Comparable Transactions methods.
- Experience with FASB Accounting Standards Codification 820, including Level 3 assets, and AICPA Calibration analysis.
- Ability to work in the New York City office and telecommute from another U.S. location under the hybrid arrangement.
