Mechanical Fitter (Underwater Robotics)

Location: Fareham, United Kingdom; work may also take place at test locations and customer sites.

What you will do

• Assemble tether management systems, ROV chassis, and other mechanical assemblies from engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Align and bolt heavy sub-assemblies and structural frames, install components, and connect mechanical hardware.
• Route hydraulic hoses, pneumatic lines, wire harnesses, and basic cable assemblies.
• Fill fluid reservoirs, bleed systems, and check assemblies for leaks.
• Support research and development activities, prototype builds, trials, and product improvement projects.
• Work independently and within a multidisciplinary team at factory, test, and customer locations.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret engineering and general assembly drawings.
• Experience using hand, workshop, and measuring tools.
• Ability to perform basic machining operations, including milling and turning.
• Ability to carry out basic electrical assembly, earth bonding, and continuity testing with appropriate training.
• Strong standards of 6S, housekeeping, tool control, workplace organisation, time management, and productivity.
• Successful candidates must complete workforce screening, working-rights verification, and security interview requirements.
